The Blueprint.
500 subs, an MIT wake-up call, and a Product Hunt gamble.

Hey awesome person - yes, you. We’ve just crossed 500 subscribers, and we can’t thank you enough. What started as a simple idea has grown into a buzzing community, sparking fresh ideas and opening doors we never imagined. It’s a blessing, and we’re truly grateful you’re a part of it.
Writing this newsletter has been one of the most energizing things we’ve done. It’s gotten our ideas flowing, pushed us to look for opportunities, and (re)awakened the builder in us.
One such opportunity came from an MIT article we stumbled across recently - one that really hit home.
The MIT Study That Sparked It
MIT just published a fascinating (and slightly unsettling) study.
Read here : Your Brain on ChatGPT
They asked participants to write SAT-style essays using:
ChatGPT
Google
Just their brains
Here’s what happened:
ChatGPT made it easy to get words on the page but the essays were “soulless” and all sounded the same.
Writers couldn’t remember what they wrote later.
Brain activity stayed low the whole time.
The no-AI group?
Showed higher creativity.
Came up with more original ideas.
Actually remembered what they wrote.
It was a powerful reminder: while AI is incredible, over-reliance on it can dull your thinking.
Enter Unlazy
We decided to build something in response.
Meet UnlazyWriter - a 100% free, minimalist writing tool that uses AI to:
Find the best, most relevant sources from across the internet
Fact-check
Spell-check
…but leaves the actual writing to you.
We built the prototype in just a week - ideated by me and my co-founder, brought to life by our lead dev and lead designer. We’ll be sharing a behind-the-scenes breakdown of how we pulled it off soon.

UnlazyWriter in Action
Going to Market (Product Hunt First)
Our next step is to get Unlazy in front of people. One strategy: launching on Product Hunt.
Product Hunt is an incredible ecosystem for new products, and we wanted to do it right. So, we’ve been putting serious effort into our upcoming launch and we’ll be sharing every lesson we learn along the way.
Why is the product free? What’s the Goal?
It’s simple:
Go through this process so we can give you, our readers, valuable takeaways from our real-world experiments.
Add an option for Unlazy users to opt into Idea TBD after onboarding - hopefully bringing in more subscribers.
Product Hunt takes a lot to crack. Our aim is to hit the Top 10. If we do, you’ll get our full playbook. If we don’t? That’s fine - we’ll still have valuable lessons to share and plenty more experiments to run.
Product Hunt rankings run on upvotes, and we launch on 17th August. Your upvote could be the push that helps us break into the Top 10. You’ll literally be contributing to our victory.
Help us take UnlazyWriter to the Top 10 → UnlazyWriter on Product Hunt
Here’s to building, testing, learning, and sharing it all with you.
